Dec 03, 2012 I would just bend it using some thick steel plate on the edge of a work bench. I have bend 1/8 316 SS 36" wide using a home made method. If you have access to an industrial door with atleast three hinges you can bend sheet metal in a door jamb as well. 1/8 X 30" AL. probably wouldn't hurt a heavy duty door.

Jun 03, 2013 I could use my vertical mill and an 1/8" diameter end mill to put a 1/16" deep, 1/8" wide notch in 1/4" aluminum plate, then bend the aluminum on the metal brake. I would only be bending 3/16" aluminum (which the brake should be able to do) at the notch, and because I could place the notch quite precisely, I would get much more exact results ...
